Terms & Conditions
Last updated: October 9, 2026
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of The Valley Insider website, including any accounts, business listings, subscriptions, and content you submit (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by The Valley Insider ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. About the Service
The Valley Insider is a local news, events, and business directory website for the Roaring Fork Valley in Colorado. Visitors can read articles, watch videos, browse events and image galleries, and search a directory of local businesses. Registered users can submit events and galleries, and business owners can add or claim a business listing through a paid annual subscription.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account or make a purchase.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. Let us know right away if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
- We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms.
3. Business Listings and Subscriptions
What you get
A paid business listing subscription lets you manage your business's page in our directory, including contact details, website and social links, logo, photo gallery, video, and downloadable files, and shows a premium badge on your listing.
Price and billing
- Business listings are $59.99 USD per month, plus any applicable taxes. The current price is always shown before you pay.
- You are charged when you sign up. Your subscription then renews automatically every month on the same date, and the card on file is charged the current monthly price unless you cancel before the renewal date.
- If we change the price, we will let you know before it applies to your next renewal.
- Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details. See our Privacy Policy for more information.
- If a renewal payment fails, we may pause your listing's premium features until the payment is updated.
Claiming an existing business
To claim a business already in our directory, you must be its owner or be authorized to act for it. We may ask you to verify ownership by email, phone call, text message, or by reviewing documents. We may decline a claim if we cannot verify it.
4. Cancellation and Refund Policy
- Cancel anytime — you can cancel your subscription at any time from the Subscription page in your account, or by contacting us. Cancellation stops future renewals.
- After you cancel — your listing keeps its paid features until the end of the month you have already paid for. After that, the subscription ends and the listing goes back to a basic, unclaimed listing or is removed.
- No partial refunds — subscription fees are non-refundable, and we do not give prorated refunds for the unused part of a subscription month, except as described below.
- Declined claims or listings — if we decline your business claim or new listing request, we will refund your payment in full.
- Billing errors — if you were charged in error, such as a duplicate charge, contact us within 30 days and we will refund the incorrect charge.
- Renewals — if you forgot to cancel before an automatic renewal, contact us within 14 days of the renewal charge. If you have not used the listing since it renewed, we will refund that renewal.
Approved refunds go back to the original payment method and usually appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.
5. Content You Submit
- Your content — you keep ownership of the text, photos, videos, logos, files, and other content you submit ("User Content").
- License to us — by submitting User Content, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, display, reproduce, resize, and distribute it on the Service and in promoting the Service.
- Your responsibility — you confirm that you own your User Content or have permission to use it, and that it is accurate and does not violate anyone's rights or any law.
- Review and removal — submitted events, galleries, and listings may be reviewed before they are published. We may edit, decline, or remove any content at our discretion, including content that violates these Terms.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Submit content that is false, misleading, defamatory, obscene, hateful, harassing, or illegal;
- Submit content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights;
- Claim or edit a business you are not authorized to represent;
- Send spam or unauthorized advertising, or use the Service for fraud;
- Try to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems, or interfere with how the Service works;
- Scrape, copy, or collect data from the Service using automated means without our written permission.
7. Our Content
Except for User Content, the content on the Service, including articles, photos, videos, logos, and design, belongs to The Valley Insider or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. You may view and share links to it for personal, non-commercial use, but you may not copy, republish, or sell it without our permission.
8. Third-Party Services and Links
The Service includes links to and content from third parties, such as business websites, maps, and embedded videos. We are not responsible for third-party websites or services, or for the products and services offered by businesses listed in our directory. Any dealings you have with a listed business are between you and that business.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We try to keep information accurate and current, but we do not guarantee that listings, event details, news, or other content are complete, accurate, or up to date. Event times, business hours, and other details can change, so please confirm directly with the business or organizer. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Valley Insider will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not be more than the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold harmless The Valley Insider from any claims, damages, or expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, that arise from your User Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms. If we end a paid subscription because you violated these Terms, no refund will be issued. If we stop offering the Service, we will refund the unused part of any prepaid subscription.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Colorado.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects paid subscribers, we will let you know by email before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
