About Us
Your local guide to life in the Roaring Fork Valley.
The Valley Insider celebrates the people, places and stories of Colorado’s Roaring Fork Valley — from Aspen and Snowmass Village down valley through Woody Creek, Basalt, El Jebel and Carbondale to Glenwood Springs and New Castle, and up the Crystal River to Redstone and Marble.
We started as a collaboration of local filmmakers who share a love of this valley and were struck by the rich stories waiting to be told about its unique culture and lifestyles. From artists and athletes to nonprofits and local businesses, the valley is full of fascinating people and pursuits — a never-ending source of stories worth sharing with the community.
Today the site brings the valley together in one place: local news and history, the businesses that make each town unique, what’s happening this weekend, and the photos and videos that show off where we live. Our goal is simply to entertain and inform — you won’t find this site stuffed with infomercials or controversy.
